Isle of Wight Music Hub

The Isle of Wight Music Hub have an exciting opportunity and are looking for new people to join our team. The IW Music Centre is looking to take on one or two Administrators, to work each Saturday morning Music Centre session. The Isle of Wight Music Centre is managed by the Isle of Wight Music Hub, and funded by the Arts Council via Southampton City Council.

Role Title: IW Music Centre Administrator

Role Description: To welcome parents and students to Saturday morning Music Centre sessions, handle their enquiries, liaise with the Music Centre Management team and musical directors.

Working Pattern: Saturday morning’s in term time, 8:30 to 13:30, with a 30-minute break. Up to 31 sessions per academic year. Note: This role may be on a rota basis. Session dates are available on

Location: Medina College on Saturday mornings. Occasional work at other sites as required (eg: to support concerts)

Pay Rate: £10 per hour / £45 per session (casual basis)

Reports to: IW Music Centre Manager


  • Responsible for registering students on and off the site each Saturday
  • Setting up and packing away equipment
  • Handling enrolment and payment enquiries
  • Contacting parents
  • Administrative tasks (photocopying, form collection, data entry)
  • Liaising with the Hub Management team and Music Centre Friends’ Association
  • Awareness of Safeguarding policies and procedures

Must be:

  • competent in the use of a PC and Microsoft Office applications, specifically Excel and Outlook
  • good with people and students (customer service skills)
  • able to handle sensitive information confidentially
  • DBS cleared, or willing to undertake a DBS check

Would ideally be:

  • Knowledgeable of the IW Music Hub operations, including Music Centre and Wight Music Tuition
  • a good communicator
  • a trained First Aider
