About:

Troy Players Orchestra
The TPO is a thriving light-music orchestra meeting twice monthly in the centre of the Island (On the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of the month, from 7:30 to 9:30 pm.).
We are a friendly group numbering 25 or so players of grade 5+ standard; Wind, Strings plus 1 horn, playing the lighter side of the classical music repertoire. Although we do, by invitation, usually play at least one concert a year, our main focus is to enjoy making music together when we meet.
The TPO is an ideal forum for late-starter adult players and for those returning to play an instrument after a gap, getting them used to playing again with others and improving their instrumental skills and musicality in a mutually supportive atmosphere.
The TPO has a long history of music making on the Isle of Wight, recently under the direction of Chris Ely.
The current conductor is Richard Bennett, who would very much welcome enquiries from prospective new members.
Please contact him on the form below if you are interested in joining us, and for details of our rehearsal venue. (Violin and Viola players especially welcome!)
