I hope you and your families are all safe and well and you all had a good summer break.
Now the new school term has started we would like to update you on the restarting of Music Centre.
Looking at the “Protective measures for holiday and after school clubs and other out of school settings during the Coronavirus outbreak” guidance issued by the government MC groups would have to meet in consistent groups of no more than 15 students. However, because we will be bringing young people together from across the Island there are a huge range of issues that we need to address, and work together with Cowes Enterprise College, to ensure everyone is kept safe. Whilst we are developing these risk assessments then our sessions will be online initially as previously stated. Obviously, the guidance can change at any moment.
Since the last communication, the hub has been providing training for directors on how to deliver sessions online and we plan to meet again during the week beginning 14 September to confirm arrangements. We will of course be in contact again once details have been confirmed.
The activities that Music Centre is able to offer will look different for the foreseeable future as how it will run once, we do meet face to face again. The hub will also be meeting with Cowes Enterprise College at the earliest opportunity to discuss how we will be able to operate.
Please be assured the hub is working hard to enable Music Centre to get back face to face as soon as we can, as long as it is safe for everyone to do so.
If you have any question please do not hesitate to get in contact with myself directly ( or 023 8083 3288) or via the Music Centre web site – www.iwmc.org.uk.
We look forward to seeing everyone again soon.
