We have some exciting updates for our 2019/20 Season, which starts on Saturday 7th September, at Medina College.

We will be introducing one new group, Top Brass, for brass players who are grade 5+. Top Brass will be led by Ruth Allen and will rehearse once a fortnight, alternating with Jazz Band.

The keyboards will revert back to one group running from 10-11am and will be for keyboard players of all standards.

Finally, C Breeze will become our initial wind band and will now run from 10am-12.30pm and will be led by Ruth Allen. This group will be for players who have just started up to grade 1. As a result Airwaves will now be for players from grade 2-4 standard with the Music Centre Wind Band being for grade 5+ students.  Parents/carers of students who currently play in either C Breeze or Airwaves will be contacted individually to confirm which group Music Centre staff feel will be the most appropriate for their child to join. We appreciate that some children may be disappointed they will not be moving up as they perhaps had thought. We feel, however, that this structure will give all students a much better musical experience and enable them to achieve and be challenged more.

All other groups will remain the same as for this year.

We are sorry to say Sandor Sztankovics will be leaving Music Centre on 6 July. We would like to take this opportunity to thank Sandor for all his hard work with our younger groups and wish him all the best with his new ventures.

Rehearsal dates for next year are now available in our online Calendar. We have also included performance dates for the coming year. Please can we ask you to put these dates in your diary now to ensure your child will be available to perform in these concerts. Further details will be sent out about the performances nearer the time. You are part of a team when you play in an ensemble and if your child does have to miss a performance for any reason it does impact on the rest of the group.

Thank you for all your support of the last year and for those students who will be leaving us I would like to take this opportunity to wish them all the best for the future.  For all our other students, we look forward to seeing you again in September
