Camerata

Camerata is an amateur ensemble of teachers, medics, a lumberjack and one folkadelic dream pop musician. We love to sing but are nothing without our Lithuanian director Jurgita Leistrumaite, weekly whipping us into shape and not accepting mediocrity.
While happier interpreting a light and lifty renaissance madrigal, we have been invited to perform the catchy melodies and irresistible chord progressions of Karl Jenkins. The popular composer conducted us and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra at the Royal Albert Hall.
Modern romantic composer Patrick Hawes conducted Camerata in a concert of his works at St John’s Newport, and is returning in Spring 2014.
